Napranum (Malakoola)

Cape York Health Service District
About Napranum (Malakoola)

Napranum is a small Indigenous community on the Cape York Peninsula, close to Weipa. Like many other Indigenous communities in Far North Queensland, Napranum was originally established as a mission. Napranum is supported by a large Rio Tinto Alcan bauxite mine as well as fishing and a growing tourism industry. Napranum is an ideal home for those with a partner in mining or who are looking for a sea change.
