"The opportunities in Queensland Health are second to none, it's a good challenge and you are making a difference to peoples lives."

Director of Anaesthetics Dr Michael Steyne made the move to Queensland from Aberdeen, Scotland.

"I made the move to Queensland because I wanted to give my children a bright future and a safe environment.  We love our outdoor life, especially Nippers and sporting activities for the kids.  And work-wise I enjoy working in my Department - the staff are lovely and very supportive."

Anaesthetist Dr Vanessa Grieg made the move from South Africa to Bundaberg Hospital.

"In a small rural location, the teams I work with have a collegiate attitude, are willing to work together, and look after each other in terms of hours worked, the coverage of patients and ability to socialise."

Senior Medical Officer Dr Dan Halliday enjoys the work-life balance of working in a rural community.

"I had previously worked and locumed at various hospitals in England when I heard about the opportunities, with Queensland Health.  I was particularly motivated to apply on the prospect of getting into a training program of my choice.  The bonus is I also have a wonderful regional coastal lifestyle."

Dr Alex Lapenga made the move to Hervey Bay, Queensland.
