Psychology

Queensland Health offers employment opportunities for psychologists in a range of clinical specialties including:

Psychologists are predominately employed in community settings however some services are delivered in hospital settings.

Neuropsychologists are employed in the major hospitals for adults and children.

Psychologists in Mental Health Services contribute to outreach services to prisons and juvenile correctional facilities, and those in Adult Mental Health Services are quite mobile in the community.

Requirements to practise

Individuals wishing to practise as a psychologist in Queensland are required to be registered with the Psychology Board of Australia.

A postgraduate qualification in Clinical Psychology or Neuropsychology is required for many psychology positions advertised in Queensland Health. Please refer to the specific Job Description for the mandatory qualifications required for individual positions advertised.
