Podiatry

Queensland Health offers employment opportunities for registered podiatrists in both hospital and community healthcare settings with services ranging from and including:

Specialist multi-disciplinary 'High Risk Foot' clinics, for patients with complex acute and chronic wounds, have been established at numerous facilities across the state where effective 'team' management of patients with chronic diseases facilitates optimal client outcomes.  Outreach services are also provided from many rural centres across the state delivering podiatry services to remote and isolated communities.

Requirements to practise

Individuals wishing to practise as a podiatrist in Queensland are required to be registered by the Podiatry Board of Australia.

Overseas trained podiatrists

The Podiatry Board of Australia requires podiatrists with qualifications not obtained in Australia or New Zealand, to contact the Australian and New Zealand Podiatry Accreditation Council (ANZPAC) to have their qualifications and skills assessed.

On successful completion of the ANZPAC assessment, an application for registration with the Podiatry Board of Australia may be submitted.
